Hey Guys/Gals
« on: December 16, 2011, 04:18:51 PM »
Just to say a quick hello. Its taken me 5 years to persuade my mrs to let me have a bike :001: and have just passed my MOD 1 and currently waiting on taking MOD 2 asap. So hopefully early next spring i will be a proud owner of a STR. Only thing is which colour? :008:

Anyone else on here had a STR for their first bike?

Look forward to getting to know some of you

Hiya mate,

You'll enjoy it on here as they are all very helpful and friendly.

My first bike bike (after a 125) was a street triple and i wouldn't have had it any other way. A bike goes only as fast as your use of the throttle and the brakes are only as strong as you apply them.

You'll love the bike as long as you treat it like it's a thoroughbred and not an old nag for pulling milk carts.

All the best for yo0ur mod 2. Just go out and enjoy the test and I'm sure you'll do fine.

Thanks for the warm welcome and possitive comments. I have been looking at the matte colours but the only thing that puts me off is the cleaning of them, getting stone chips etc. I have seen a few matte orange str's that have been shined if that makes sense and they look awesome. Anyone got any comments on cleaning their matte bikes or who have had their matte bikes glossed???

Welcome noob (in a good way, not a 13 year old x-box way  :001:)!  I passed my Mod1 & 2 earlier this year and took a street triple out for a test ride a while after.  It's such an easy bike to ride sensibly, but the power is there when you want it and are ready for it.  Couldn't pick a better choice myself  :002:

Heyup STRnoob and  :401: from Belgium

+1 with the encouraging comments above, go for it! I have the matt Graphite, and following advice from someone ages ago, use Pledge on it - chips can still get you, OK, but they can on a gloss finish too - and mine still looks ace!

Good luck for the following months  :028:
