Hi, I have just joined the group. I haven't got a Street Triple yet but really want one.

I mainly want to find out what they are like , reliabilty etc. and also if you can load some camping gear on them. My next bike will probably be my last so I want something I can keep .
I currently have a CBF1000 which does all of the above and probably will last forever but I will never love it !!
Cheers

Welcome. However last bike and keep are famous last words. What's wrong with the CBF 1000? It's not pretty, but I reckon it's a great bike.

Heyup Billc and welcome from Belgium

Reckon you can do most tjings with a Striple, take a look through some of the posts on Touring and you'll get the picture! May the grin be wide and long lasting,

Cheers

Hiya bill,

welcome along mate.
This is my view on the Street Triple and I'm no professional biker.

The street triple isn't the most practical bike in the world. But..... The bike handles beautifully. The engine is not as smooth as some inline fours but it makes up for it by sounding great and pulling in any gear so riding is easy and hassle free in traffic or out on empty roads. The gear box has a great feel and is not at all notchy. One tank will do between 120 and 150 miles.

The only downsides are not alot of pillion room and little wind protection. Wind isn't an issue unless you like doing 95 plus all the time (on a track of course).  The Kreiga tail packs fit on the seat great and many on here swear buy them. Some have the Ventura luggage racks. Either option means touring is easy.

I hope you love the Street triple as much as i do.

Thanks everyone.

There's nothing wrong with the CBF1000. It's just  you wouldn't go down to the garage just to look at it. lol. It's a bit porky ( 60 kilos heavier than a street triple ) and a bit long so tends not to turn in very quickly but will never wear out !

A friend of mine has an immaculate 10 year old Speed triple 955 which he loves . He's owned it 9 years and can afford to change it but there is nothing else he wants !

I was hoping the Street Triple might be somewhat similar.
