Wheels are not cheap thats for sure, you may find some on ebay or there is a breaker called stephen dicken that will have some not sure of his contact details but he has a site on ebay just email if he has none advertised as I'm sure he will have a second hand set.  :028:

That is expensive. For powdercoating a pair of wheels you should be paying about £60/70 for plain colours, bit more for fancier stuff. My Striple wheels powdercoat cost me £100 for gloss black with a silver metalflake, and they look gorgeous, top quality job. The other option I was considering (candy blue over silver metallic) was £80.

Second hand wheels the average asking price seems to be about £500 for a pair. Don't know if they're getting that, but that's what most folk are asking. I looked at what they were going for, 'cos I was wondering how much of the cost of a set of OZ Piegas I could offset by selling mine...

Oh thats decided me on respray if I go ahead with this-do fancy gold but need to untuck bike from hibernation and stand and stare at her for a while before getting my cash out-did think secound hand would be a bit less but have been looking at new on line since posting this so that price doesn't seem so bad-found some lovely gold OZ wheels on line-god they are pricey  :005: Also have rad cowls, belly pan and fly screen to go on this year-bargain buy just before xmas so will be busy. Thanks for advice  :028:

I don't like owt gold (i may have mentioned that once or twice, lol). I luuurve the black OZ Piegas, but even at trade price they're far too much money to justify. They are stunning though.

Gold is distinguished. That's why it's on the phantom black STR  :029:

Cheapest way is to strip them of fteh bike..including bearings etc..and if you are anywhere near a Lepsons wheel centre, that is the place to take them as they not only powdercoat the wheels, they check them for cracks and do the repairs and machining all in the same cost. I think motorcycle wheels are about £80 each...look it up on their website. If you want them painted and are in the Surrey Sussex area I can recommend "Bikepaintworks" as I have seen his wheels. Lepsoms did my car wheels and they cam e back repaired of all damage and fully refurbished and still look as good today as the ydid 5 years ago when they were first done...so Lepsoms for me.  :465:

Any gold, I just think it looks tacky, crass and tasteless, yuk yuk yuk. Certainly has no place on a bike. I love the way my R looks, but I hate the gold calipers, they're disgusting. I'll be remedying those before it comes out in spring, 'cos they ruin the looks of an otherwise gorgeous bike.

How is that cheap? £80 per wheel is VERY expensive.

As refered to, you might want to add in new bearings to teh cost.
Plus the cost to take out and put back, maybe best done at tyre change time.
I like my dull gold wheels, but they come up a near black when it rains  :027:
