I think your memory's playing tricks there, lol. Early R6 is teh second most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden, lol. Can't understand why anyone buys stuff like that as a road bike.

They've definitely got worse post 2005.

One things for sure, at least you won't be seeing a bike the same as yours every time you go out - R6 sales for 2011 were down 60% on 2010, and they didn't sell any in 2010...

That's cause they hurt too much, and we're all getting too old! :019:

And as for the Suzuki, the styling's been awful since about 2003. :004:

At least if the Japs stop stop developing bikes, they can't get more uncomfortable. lol.

Perhaps they need to start building bikes people want to buy !

The k4/k5 600/750 is a great looking bike (much sexier than the bland and nondescript K1-K3. All Japanese sportsbikes since have been ugly as sin. I remember one summer evening me and my last gf stood comparing her black K5 750 to the black K7 it was parked next to outside the pub, the K7 just looked cheap, plasticky and generally ugly all round, hers was much sexier (especially with her on it, lol). It was the last good looking Japanese sportsbike.

Perhaps they need to start building bikes people want to buy !

That's the trick Triumph have cottoned on to (hence their abandonment of the litre sports sector), but the Japanese just don't get it. As far as the European market goes, it's only ever been the UK that's been sportsbike obsessed, and times have changed, sales of sportsbikes have dropped through the floor, dealers can barely give them away - people just don't want them because they're useless and irrelevant for the congested, over policed and rapidly crumbling UK road network. and the Jap   factories insist on making them increasingly irrelevant and useless with each model update.

Yeah,
The market's ok for choice if you want naked, sports, or adventure type bike, but what if you want something to cover more bases the choice is very limited. Can't we have performance, lightweight, comfort, and full fairings, please! If anybodies listening :211:

You're already sorted then. But it would be nice to have the choice, eh?

There's never been more choice than there is these days, there's a bike for everyone, I would've thought.

R6 and Daytona have the most interesting engines, but for the opposite reasons.
