If it's safe with a race can may have a play with me old ZX6 then :007:

Couldn't weld the box back up then? :008:

OT My Arrow 3-1 with appropriate map does a bit of blue flame on the overrun-I love it and suspect it is a combination of the de-cat and a degree of deliberate richness in the standard fuel mapping. I'm sure it could be tuned out by a good dyno man but I'd be sorry to lose it.

Quite so :) It's a huge part of the bike's character :D As far as I see it it's got the official Triumph map, I've got 1.5 years of warranty left and I've done 9000 miles on the bike in all weather so far, so I'll find out soon enough ;)

I've done a billionty killshift backfires on my Bandit with no ill effects, lol. A race can's just a tube basically, so the ignited fuel just exits out the back. Might scorch the packing a bit I suppose, but who cares, it's amusing, especially in tunnels.

It was properly dead, lol. I've got a pic on my external drive I could dig out. I replaced it with a nice custom stainless steel fruitier one, for less than the price of a replacement OE mild steel one.

A thought on the arrows low boy and the flame shooting based on the information or hearsay in this thread. The arrows low boy is sold as a "race"can, and race cans are more suseptable and better for this. Also it occurs when closing the throttle, is teh ecu shutting down parts that is having a similar effect to using a kill switch?

Just looking at it from this thread posts for discussion.

valve overlap

even when you shut off throttle completely, the ecu, spark and injector will not react instantly, therefore slight overfuelling will occur

valve overlap means that incoming air and slightly unburnt or partially ignited fuel will get pushed/sucked straight in from inlet valve and out of the exhaust valve into the exhaust, because they are both open during this overlap

also, over fuelling can be used to cool a hot running engine, you need flooding to bore-wash, not slight over fuelling
