Hi all!

I'm 31 years old living in the UK (Channel islands). Got into biking last year after a bit of an enforced lay off after riding in my teens / early 20s. I was previously on a couple of mitos then most recently a ktm duke 125. I have just bought my STR and am taking delivery on Saturday. Its a 2009 model which has been resprayed matte black. The previous owner took reall good care of it!

Not going to change any of the bits on it at the moment, just want to add and personalise. Am thinking red decals and rim tape with red brake lines and maybe a belly pan :)

I will be getting a few spares with it (Bits he took off) and a spare Zard end can which is still in the box. Thinking of sticking the brand new can on and selling the one thats on it at the moment but I have noticed on the Zard doesnt seem to be used much by the members on here?

Anyway, the mods on the bike at the moment are;
Matte Black respray, Zard 3>1 Full system with removable baffler (Sounds so sexy) and the Zard 3>1 map. Arrow Rear sets, ASV Black Shorty Leavers with black adjusters, HID headlight  upgrade, Triumph Anodised Brake Reservoirs, Triumph Anodised Oil Filler cap and Dipstick, R&G Upper Crash protectors, Renthal Medium Grips and Custom Tail Tidy.

I forgot to explain the name headslide, its not cos i'm some sort of crazy ass rider. It came from a bmx accident when I was younger. My arms didnt come out fast enough to take the impact and well, my forehead did instead!

I hopefully will be doing that in the summer Rosbeef. Thats if money allows. Got a a holiday to cyprus booked for june and also off to see the roses in July! All that on top of the other half pushing for saving for marriage!

I'll get round her eventually, she's just a bit peeved that I would rather spend 4k on a motor than on a wedding so i'll let her cool off before mentioning wanting to take the bike away

Is it not cheap as chips to get over to St Malo or Cherbourg ? I only ask coz last time we were up your way on the bike we met 2 biking lads from Jersey who were out for a blast in near Rennes as the speed limit cramps there style on the Channel Isles.

Oh your gonna love Cyprus and wish you could have packed your bike in your luggage. My wife did nearly a 3 year tour of duty on the island, she say's you gotta get up to the Troudos mountains, its stunning !

Yeah your right mate, it costs next to nothing and is half hour on the boat. I hadn't even considered just going over for the day. Have had it in my head about taking a few days and riding down for a track day so I can learn to ride the thing 

I've heard good things about Cyprus. Going to take the golf clubs because they have some nice courses there. Thank your wife for the tip! I'll be sure to check it out
