Carbon4U Undertray Update
« on: November 11, 2010, 01:35:24 PM »
So i've been working on the undertray for the ST with the lowboy fitted... I have some sneek preview pics of what we have so far...
But this is the one that will go to become the mould and not the finished item..

So here is the part, its been chopped about and has the plastic light surround on it, so it fits around the light as standard does..

Here it ois on the bike, with the standard reflector

With ours u can mount the indicators on the side by the reflector and they will be at 90 degrees to end,so it will look correct when on bike !!

One of the rear end with the side panels on..

Side shot

So i'm now looking to extend the tray to go right down to the swingarm, will see if that is possible...

Then next is the undertray for the slip on bikes....

I can see your number plate! lol

Looks good, can you explain to me if this is an upgrade to a previous part or does it achieve something that was not done before?

I have the R&G tail tidy on which seems to have a different back end to the one you have. It doesn't have a reflector on it. Something I need to get sorted.

When fitting the rear LED light, you have to saw/shave down the 2 bits of plastic to get the light into the area it should fit, after that it still doesn't fit like the OEM part.

This is the carbon undertray for the ST we will on offer. This replaces your current undertray, numberplate bracket and tail light surround.
If you are interested in looking at bikes on tracks please visit my website www.KnockhillRacing.com (my little hobby). That website is sponsored by our forum supporting vendor better known as Carbon4U.

This is to replace the OEM tail light surround and once the tail end is removed and the small plastic undertray, this then covers the whole lot up and makes it a bit more easy to keep clean.
U need to re mount the sensor that was attached to old tail end
There is a tail tidy for reg plate and a small light for plate.
The reg plate is Ali and powder coated, will show pics once back from powder coat..

There will be full fitting instructions and electrics, is connection plate light to original one, fit any indicators u like..

Very interesting-how does it affect the batterey box and "storage" area?
If it ain't broke....fiddle with it until it is!
If I were any more "Street" I'd be homeless.

Doesnt affect the battery box area at all, i have been trying to gain extra storage , but its not easy..
Have been looking at creating pockets inside the seat panels, but due to the frame work and the shape and bolts, its not easy..

Well it should be with Paul on monday finished and ready to go as the mould.
Then they look it and do the mould, we then find out the price and we tell u all...

We plan to make it cheaper than the one u can buy that isnt correct !!

It will be complete with the following:
1 undertray
1 tail tidy
3 nuts and bolts and washers to hold tail tidy to undertray.
2 bolts and washers to hold undertray to sub frame
1 rear registration plate and nuts
1 reg plate fixing kit

U should not need anything else , apart from the £1000.00 instructions  :008: :008: :008: :008:

U should be able to order this within 2/4 weeks, 6 weeks delivery... This is all at mercy or manufacturing and shipping...

Trust me , no one wants this more than me.........

Good work Dodge, i'm impressed how you guys can just design and make new parts. It puts a lot of other 'bigger names' to shame with how easy you make it look.

3 questions.....

1. You mention the sensor has to be moved ...what sensor and how difficult is that going to be?
2. Will it have holes pre drilled to mount indicators? (if I were buying i'd be getting a twin pipe OEM version).

Cheers.

Is the 3rd question a trick one???? As i can only see two!!

The "Air Pressure Sensor" is mounted on the metal tail framework, i removed mine and let it flap around within the undertray.
What i plan to do is once the mould is finished, make mine back to standard, and then do a complete write up and take loads of pics, i will then post pics and instructions on here... Plus u can get my mobile number from our website and call me for tech support..

The holes will be in all places and u should not have to re drill or add any, unless u want to make changes or mods..
I'm not planning to drill any holes for indicators, as everyone has there on view on which ones they want to use..

This undertray i have posted with only work with the lowboy.
I'm will be working on the slip on version once i get a bike to use..

If i can fit this, to me anyone can !!! Plus with me as your tech support ...... Easy
