Dropped my bike - Indicator Upgrade time?
« on: August 12, 2017, 01:00:57 PM »
Hi guys,

So like a top class prat I finally done the inevitable after having my license a few months and dropped my bike after making a poor decision.  It landed on the offside and in the process snapped my offside front indicator.

I'm now thinking do I either replace with OEM parts like for like, or upgrade to LED's.  All indicators on my bike seem to have suffered from some kind of water ingress at one point or another so I'm thinking about doing the lot.

I welcome any input/experience, recommendations as to where to buy from and any instruction regarding replacement (I understand a relay also requires replacing?)

Cheers

I do have a spare complete set from my first RS. Their the stock RS LEDs but could be considered an upgrade anyway the options on the table.

Sorry to hear about the drop. Everyone does it sooner or later, especially when new. I've done it twice (not on my Street thankfully). Depends what you want to do- use it as the silver lining to the cloud of dropping it and get some feel good factor with an upgrade, or just replace the busted one which is the cheapest option obviously. To be honest I'm fairly happy with the standard flashers, they're not too offensive looking compared to some bikes (eg my Fazer Thou), but big enough to be seen. I'm not a big fan of these dinky winkers, too easy to miss regardless of how bright the LED might be, due to size.
