Turning a CatD ST3 into a track bike

Yes mate it is really it's also a bit lardy but it's a very good road bike more civilised than a single & comfy..must be my age!...I did hear the bergs were fond of parts but ultra light & great performers..you can't have it all eh..I ride quite a lot of enduro a mate just bought a 2010 fe450 berg stunning motor it would be great with some road rubber ...they did make a 570  would love one but a bit thin on the ground & lots of dough.
Think your trumpet will be very good though has the power & handling with some weight loss it will be a flyer..

Not a bad price then! Are you going to spend much on it? Alter suspension etc?

Haha I'm much in the same situation. I bought my street for £2k off eBay as slightly tired looking commuter bike. The rear shock snapped whilst I was riding it, which prompted me to fully strip and rebuild it. Had all the frame repainted, all panels etc so I've spent nearly £2k on bits!

What is a steering limiter? Is it like a steering damper??

Ha ha .. you can't beat buying really cheap bike and turning it into a really expensive one   

the steering limiter is a couple of alli plates that bolt to the air intake.  Its for a Daytona, it limits the amount lock, so you don't trap your hands against the tank... quite handy if your lock stop has snapped off like mine.
only problem is I can't see how its going to fit with the race nose cone...looks like I might have to butcher it :(

Just looked them up on the SES website. Love the SES gear, had a set of rear sets on my old hornet. Awesome stuff!

Is the steering limiter and trapped hands only really an issue on a sports bike with clip on bars etc? Or is it an issue you could experience on track even with a street? Or just using one as the steering lock is damaged on your street?

FINISHED  ... well almost

finally got round to fitting the STR forks I bought a couple of weeks ago and go out for a quick spin.
really pleased with the bike, it handles a treat and sounds fantastic.


just needs to get my trackday bodywork painted and wheels powder coated and we're done..
