Bought a Constand bike lift, crappy instructions, but got there eventually.

They are a brilliant stand Steve but I removed the original nut and put a 5mm washer in its place as with the nut removed as advised by Motea/Constand it left something like a 10mm gap between the adaptor and the pin and with the nut still fitted i felt that the number of threads engaged left a little to be desired.
Did you remove the nut or leave it in place when you turned around the bolt?
Chaos, panic, destruction.........my work here is done.

Well, I'm a bit lost on what you mean.

Where it states to remove the engine but and pull out the long bolt, then replace the other way round, that made no sense at all?

I simply took the nut off, and screwed the sleeve into the long bolt?

Is that wrong?

Not at all.
Although the bike must have previously had one fitted as the bolt is usually fed into the frame from the left hand side and needs putting in from the right to fit the stand.

I've had it from new, and I've never touched it :)

The bolt head was on the right, and nut on the left, weird!?

He's a zoomed in pic from when I first had the bike.

Oh, strange eh. :028: As I said I removed my nut and re-torqued the adaptor after fitting a 5mm washer. This was what mine looked like before I fitted the washer. I wasn't fussy on only 4 turns of the adaptor. Its now on 7 turns I think.

Before

Washer,

After,
