I changed to a lithium battery. The new one only weighs 800g (from memory) so the total saving was 2.1kgs compared to a lead acid one. To be honest the bike doesn't actually feel massively lighter as I guess it still carries the weight quite high, but it's a bit like the difference between having a full tank of fuel and a nearly empty one  :002: If I had the money I'd put lighter wheels on, lots of titanium bolts and a really light exhaust!

There was the odd time where riding in the wet was ok, especially on an R1, but more than anything I hated the issues it caused the bike each winter etc. - I felt like I was forever rebuilding brake calipers and so on.

The wheels would make a huge difference to the weight of the bike and your wallet! Lol!
I can't be arsed with the bad weather either, it's hard enough finding time to do the fun bits on the bike!

Some tyres are lighter than others, so that could be worth looking into...
