"Hallo" from The Netherlands
on: May 18, 2020, 12:41:05 PM
Howdy! After riding a Honda CB600F Hornet for a couple of years, I'm suddenly the proud owner of a 2007 Street Triple. Not that there's anything wrong with the Honda really, but drooling over an online marketplace can make a quirky pair of round eyes draped in a hilariously green dress to cause a stir ;). Never expected it to be as different to the Honda as it is, but haven't regretted it for a second since.

Some changes / rolling back decisions of previous owners are planned (main reason I joined), but I'll go find the appropriate sections for that :)

(P.S.: I'm hoping my username won't be considered offensive; it's obviously not targeted at anyone but myself :P)

Welcome to the forum. I think you'll find everything that you need to know on here.

It sounds like I have a similar project to yours. I have a 2013 STR that had various items of "bling" fitted when I bought it, after a while I suddenly got tired of the bling and the carbon fibre. So I've spent the winter sourcing and fitting standard parts.  :028:

Steve.

Ps. I don't think your username will offend anyone.

Thanks!

The main "bling" is the fly screen / wind protection thingy that I took off, leaving a set of black screws on a bright green nose... Sadly, that part seems to have been discontinued by Triumph... Other pieces of bling (Arrow twin cans, painted belly pan, ...) are part of why I bought this particular striple, so it's a matter of taste of course :) I'll make it all mine in time ;)

Hey hallo..

Nice to see another Dutchie on the forum.
You can find lots of stuff on eBay (cheap) and shipped from the UK.
Since it is still handled as a EU country, no extra taxes (invoerrechten).

Safe travels on the STR.

You could take away the flyscreen and screw this on the back of your clockset.

This way you go back to "naked"

I guess that's an option, but I really do like the fly screen, sadly. Thanks for the suggestion tho :D

I understand, and it has its use on the highway. I actually have the dark tinted puig over the flyscreen on my black street triple and I like it.

If those "bolts" in the flyscreen bother you, you can have a look here:
https://www.brabantmotors.nl/toebehoren/onderdelen/speed-triple-1050-2005-2010/fly-screen-in-kleur-motor-1-detail

I am not sure if they are the same shape as the original flyscreen ?

Please post us a picture of your new bike

That's a good shout actually, albeit a bit pricey. I started a new topic for this hunt, I'll crosspost your find there :)
