Delkevic end can fitment 2010
on: May 31, 2020, 06:42:00 PM
Hi all,

Probably covered before but I couldn't find anything.....

If you do a 3-1 exhaust on a 2010 STR, would the link pipe be the same diameter and fit the same as a 2013 STR?

I have 1 x Delkevic exhaust can from my current bike and I'm thinking, if I can just buy the Delkevic link pipe for the 2013 model, if it would fit onto the 2010 model.

Hope I've explained that clearly enough.  :001:

The 2013 model has a different exhaust, up to 2012 has the underseat and the header section kicks up after the engine requiring a loop to fit a low pipe. I doubt the 2006/2012 link pipe will work.

The end cans are pretty much all the same input diameter, so a link pipe for the 2013 model will suit your end can. SP Engineering and Delkevic both make a suitable link pipe.

I run SP Engineering Carbon cans with Delkevic link pipes for a 3-2 system or one of the cans with an SP Engineering link pipe for a 3-1 system on a 2008R.

I would talk to Delkevic directly. I found them very helpful when looking for link pipes. Prices are reasonable and quality is good.

Thanks for the reply.

I've seen the Delkevic link pipe and on the 3-1 system it mounts the exhaust of the pillion foot rest which isn't an ideal place for what I want as I want to remove the footrests.

Good to know the outer core is generic at 51mm though.

Looking at the styles, I think I'll likely sell my Delkevic exhaust. I just remember the masses of hot air under my arse from having had twin Scorpion cans on my previous STR. 3-1 Would be better for me and SP Engineering make the nicer stubby pipes that I prefer.

We'll see.  :002:

My SP engineering 3-1 has a plate that fits on the front peg bracket to mount the exhaust.

Yeah, the SP Engineering ones look neat with the support bracket and the curly shaped link pipe. Means the pillion foot rest can come off which is what I want.
Saw a YouTube video earlier today and it was nice to hear it too.

I'll just sell my Delkevic can.
