Standard / LED Mix indicators - query
on: June 03, 2020, 01:56:45 PM
Hi all,

I'm going to be looking at a 2010 STR and it has the Triumph LED front indicators but the standard rear indicators. Odd.....

If I changed the rears to aftermarket LED ones, will I need to add another relay or will it run off the existing relay (providing one is fitted)?

I will check first that they flash in sequence before attempting to change them.

Thanks

There's only one relay so they have to flash together, unless by sequence you mean the speed of flash. The new LED ones might have ballast resistors fitted, or possibly the relay has already been changed. Either way just change the rear and see what happens, worst is they flash fast and you need another relay.

Or just ask the previous owner unless that's too easy.

Buying from a dealer so hopefully they would check this. However Iím just thinking ahead as I would change the rears to LED. I think like you say, if a relay is already fitted it might just mean a pair of resistors are needed.

You mean if a (LED) relay is fitted then no resistors are needed.
