Hello at last
on: June 21, 2020, 12:06:39 AM
Hello,

I've been away from biking for 27 years and decided a couple of years ago to have another go. I bought a 2012 Street Triple 675 from an auction company that specialise in insurance write offs and awaited delivery. It came, I cried and shoved it in a dark corner of my garage as everything was rotten, siezed, dented and corroded. It's colour was black and it was the first of the rhombus shaped headlights.

I've spent the last 2 years mooching around this forum and 8 weeks ago I decided to get it done. It's at this point I'd like to thank forum member Bazzer for his help and kindness with a set of headers, delivering them miles away from his home and generally getting bombarded with WhatsApp messages off me.

Here's a few pics of the bike now

Hey broomy0901!  Hello, good morning and a very warm  :401: to the net's best for all things Street Triple!

Hmmmmm...... that's a VERY sad story as a re-introduction to biking and, worse, as an introduction to the Street Triple.  It is, however, really heartening to hear that a fellow forum member has stepped up to the plate and delivered ..... kudos to you, bazzer!

Your ST certainly doesn't look anything like the "rotten, siezed, dented and corroded" PoS that you describe was originally delivered to you so you deserve a lot of credit for the transformation.  Well done, indeed.   I do have to say that your clutch side controls appear to be at a rather ..... ermmmmmm ..... "jaunty" angle  :001:, but the rest of the bike is looking VERY handsome so I expect that you're rightly proud and pleased with the end result.

Hope it rides as good as it looks and that we see some more pictures as it gets some miles under its wheels!

Ride safe, stay well!

Regards,

Adie

Hi Adie,

Thanks for your kind comments, it feels good to have got it done.

Well done on spotting the clutch cable. Unfortunately it's now about 100mm too short as the ring I fabricated to support the clocks caused the cable to get pinched hence the rather crummy routing.

I'm really looking forward to getting on the road as eveyone tells me what superb bikes they are.

Regards
Steve

Hi there, well done for saving another Street Triple. I have noticed you have black forks and what seems like, the standard brakes....not seen that done before. Any info about how the two parts got married together  :027: P.S. You have no excuse not to ride it NOW  :149:

Hello, the secret to the black forks was a pair of scissors, craft knife and my wifes hairdryer  :001:. I would have loved a set of R forks but my budget wouldn't allow it.

With all that work you will know it inside out for sure, and it certainly will be your bike.
Welcome aboard... :028:
