General mechanical questions.
on: July 05, 2020, 02:12:41 PM
Hi everyone,
Apologies if all this has been covered in other threads. Feel free to batter me.

Soooo early next year I’m going to buy a street also most certainly a 19 plate R.

Has anybody done the motodemic headlight swap and if so does it look as nice as it does on there website?

Also tuning; is the ecu accessible like on my old 09 plate triple or does it need a power commander and so on?

And a weird one but does anybody know of risers you can get to make it less ‘riser-y’. Low risers if you know what I mean.

What would be the need for tuning? If you’re looking for more race / track performance the RS would probably be a better base to start with.

I don’t know about accessing the eco but If it’s just for changing the exhaust there’s a 12 minute auto tune thingy: start the bike and let it idle for 12 minutes without touching the throttle and the sensors adapt the fuel air mixture to suit the new exhaust.

I changed the end can twice and have found the throttle response perfect after each. I only changed the can though, I don’t know if this would work if the cat was removed.

Apologies if none of this is relevant

Hey typhon219.

Thanks. Yeah unfortunately I’m ‘height challenged’ so I’ve basically scored the RS off the list.

But even if I did get an RS it would be off to the tuners…my thoughts being that all modern bikes are strangled by emissions regs so they kind of all need work done to them. So yeah get an R and tune it is the plan…not to gain massive power, some would be nice tho…but just so it’s the best it can be (for me at least) without going down the route of cams, porting, etc.

The R is plenty fast enough. Has more torque than the RS due to different cams. Needs no tuning.

If you want to go faster, buy a faster bike.

You can access the ECU using tuneecu and a Bluetooth obd module, not by cable.

Hi,

I just removed the bug eyes of my 2014 striple and installed a motodemic single headlight instead.

The mod is really easy to make and I like the result very much.

I chose a halogen standard headlight as I am not a big fan of LED models.

The halogen is also much cheaper and I had to pay around 130 € of import fees  :005:

It is pretty sure I would have paid more than twice more with a LED light ! :087:

You can compare my pics with Motodemic's :

Nice looking conversion - looks like it could have come out of the factory like that!  Tres bon!

Merci adiepage !

I am quite happy with it too.

The pro is the possibility to convert it back to OEM quick and easy 😉

A maintenance at Triumph is planned by next friday. I ll see if they love the conversion or not 😁
