2020 RS quickshifter/blipper
on: August 09, 2020, 11:31:19 PM
Does anybody else find it a little clunky/slow, like there's an unpredictable delay between 3rd and 4th at mid range revs? I also find the blipper kind of stiff. Just feel a bit disappointed with it, think I'm happier just using the clutch.

It does seem a little clunky but I don't really use it on the road, it's just a gimmick really.
I'll see what it's like on the next trackday when being abused properly  :001:

On my 2017 I notice the clunk between the 3rd and 4th.

Is it true that the blipper off a 2020 can't be installed on previous versions, i.e. the 2018 RS model?

not sure about that but that have also made changes to the gearbox so this may mean it won't work as well??

I find the QS on my 2018 RS clunkier than my old one on my 675! And yes I believe the blipper canít be retrofitted.

Are you able to adjust the timings at all? Iíve got a HM unit on mine and have been playing with settings so if itís possible to do the same on the triumph unit that might help?

According to the HM site if you decrease the sensitivity the gears are more loaded before the sensor cuts in, and if you increase the time of the cut itíll re-engage smoother. Iím still figuring it out but have improved the first few gear changes this way.
