Strange noise after pump prime
on: September 12, 2020, 04:00:19 PM
Hi,

I changed my end can on my 765R a few months back and have noticed a weird noise ever since. I followed the installation instructions and am confident no mistakes have been made.

The noise is a weird whine, a bit like someone gently sucking their teeth. It comes from the engine, maybe behind the radiator. It happens after the fuel pump finishes priming when switching on. If I switch off it carries on for t or so seconds before stopping. If I start the bike and ride then when I stop, sometimes it has stopped and sometimes it carries on until I turn the key off.

Anyone experienced this?

Hi I think this is normal both my current triumphs do it. My old tiger also did this. Sounds like a mix of a whine and electrical signals?

My RS is much louder but as all my bikes have done it and my friend who also had a tiger did it shouldn't be an issue.

To be extra safe check your headers are secure in case it got knocked when you installed the end can.
