Comfort Seat
on: March 18, 2021, 05:41:52 PM
Anybody got any not too expensive ideas for making the rider seat a bit more comfortable. I am ok for about 60 to 70 miles but have a trip planned which will be around 230 miles a day and I am sure my rear end will suffer.
Sorry the bike is 2019 street 765

Sitting on the motorcycle for too long compresses nerves and blood vessels . A softer seat is often not the way to go. On my 2010 I have a sargent seat and this is actually a bit harder , but better made and it makes a big difference. Last week I did 280km in 1 day and I had some pains in the wrists and knees, but not on my bum.
On the other hand, If in summer I ride in a kevlar motorjeans, it is worse than if I wear my textile overpants over my regular jeans in winter. The extra layers do make a difference.
You could try an Airhawk aircussion or something alike, if you plan to do a longer trip. I have read good things about it, but never needed one myself. The disadvantage could be that you sit a bit higher .
You could also try a special undershort for mountainbike riders with a gelcussion on the right places. These also give extra comfort and less transpiration with thick chamois and breathable fabric.

I have a 2017 RS and have done 400 mile days with no issues, yes I know we are all different. You could try cylcing shorts, the padded ones under your leathers.

Yh i have the same bike and year. Have done a 14hr (800mile) day no issues been to the Alps on it also. It was actually better than my tiger 800 XRX that was fitted with comfort seats. I am not sure if the seat is different on the Street S/R if so might actually be an idea to pick up an RS seat if it fits!.
