First trackday
« on: May 13, 2016, 07:31:42 PM »
I've finally taken the plunge and booked myself onto a trackday, at Knockhill on Sunday for the first time.  :002:
I'm undecided if it is worth while playing about with my suspension and tyre pressures, at the moment it "feels right" for spirited road riding, although I can't remember how I got it that way  :008: I ride a 2012 STR and have booked into the novice group. :465:

Most trackdays have suspension specialist in who will advise & adjust over a few sessions depending on your feedback and what they see happening with the tyres etc then charge you 30-50 ish.
Chaos, panic, destruction.........my work here is done.

Well, track day went well, although was out for 3 laps then somebody had a big off, involving two other bikes  :005: 2 taken away by paramedics, hope they're ok. Session was inevitably delayed but got back out for 2 sessions. My set up seemed to work well, although dropping my tyre pressure would probably improve things more. I was getting passed by litre bikes on the straight then catching up on the bends, and managed to get a footpeg touching down  :007:
Think I'm hooked now  :305:

Nice. How much did it cost you all in?

75 booked in advance, for a half day. This would normally give you 4 20 minute sessions, plus about 20 for food and fuel. Good value in my book  :002:

It's so easy to spend 100 and not have fun, I did it today buying clothes for my holiday. So I'll agree, good value.
