Newbie advice please :) Are any of the accessory screens available that mount on the Triumph fly screen worth a light? Do they actually achieve a less windy ride? I have an 08 ST and am 5'10" ~ cheers Henners

I'm 6' 1, and I didn't like the extra screen that my bike came with, so I removed it.

Personally I didn't notice the difference, but I guess if you're going to be doing touring/motorway riding often, ten they could have their merits.

Thanks for responding JonWal ~ as you can guess I am looking for some form of protection from high speed wind blast. I love every aspect of the ST except when I have to use the motorway and a screen would be useful if it offered some real use. I was surprised at the lack of response to this question on here and on other forums though, perhaps I should have asked about tyres or tail tidies  :007:

This proved useful:

There's not many things I can answer on this forum, I'm more of a reader than a poster.

I've never owned a bike with a fairing before, coming straight onto the Street Triple from the Suzuki Gladius (Gladys lol) I passed my test on, so not much to compare to.

Thanks Andy ~ thought that might be the case, style over substance  :003:

I fitted the Puig screen but than means removing the fly screen, quality bit of kit and makes a huge difference reducing wind blast, rode 4k miles over the winter. Does make the bike look different I like the look of the fly screen which is part of the ST character  but prefer the protection of the Puig....doesn't look too bad in my humble opinion..

I have fitted a Puig screen to my 2011 Street Triple. I used to ride a Fazer 600 and 918 Fireblade so wanted a bit of wind protection. I fitted it before riding the bike so can't give a before/after comparison. However, the screens not bad at taking off the worst of wind blast on the motorway to about 75 mph. 80+ I feel it on the shoulders. It's not hugely different to the protection I got from the Fazer's small fairing. It means 200 mile rides are very comfortable on mixed roads. More comfortable than the Blade.
