2000 miles on my Street!
« on: January 20, 2018, 03:46:32 PM »
Well this week I finally ticked over 2000 miles on my Street Triple!

After a frustrating start that is!

Only commuting but that is gonna change in the spring time!

It's a great bike overall, being a multi there isn't instant torque like I'm used to though from my thumpers.

And it feels cramped with textile trousers on.

Can't move around on it much, I feel like I'm in a fixed position.

I'm 6ft with long legs though.

But other than that, lovely machine!

heya,

Ive been riding 2 stroke enduros/mx on and off since I was 14 (Im now 37!) and only recently got my street (first proper big road bike) and I love it but have the same sort of feelings you do!  It feels so heavy compared to my yz250 I use for green laning and woos.  I can just throw that around and change lines in a nano second, even on the road I feel more.... stable(??) on the yz and probably safer!  I thinks its due to having the 7same riding position for so many years and a street bike is a totally different kettle of fish!

I love the street to bits and cant wait to gain some more confidence and start pushing myself, but for this weather you cant beat the stupid amount of fun of the off roader (plus I love the stupidness of my 2 stroke motor and how easy it is to maintain)

Well done.
I have 2,000 miles up on my bike since June.
Don't really get the chance to commute on mine as transport the sprog to his 6th form .
Looking forward to half term fun as I can use it the long way into work.

I had a YZ250 engined Lambretta. It was the maddest bike  Ive owned.

I only done just over 2000 miles on mine in the year that Ive had it and I done a 600mile day up to the west coast of Scotland, want to try and get close to the 5000miles that I have told my insurance I do this year.

Get some tank grips it will make it easier to grip the tank with your textiles so you can move around.

Already got tank grips baz300.

I meant the textiles tend to bunch up around the back of my knees and make me rigid.

I've got to be careful to tuck them all the way into my boots.

Anyway, I underestimated the time it would take to get to brands as I'm about to tick over 4k.

Trying to get as much use out of this as possible because I'm gonna take a hit when I sell it.

Anyway, she needs new pads all around which came as a surprise, so I need to change them first and then I can get my leather trousers repaired then look at track days.
