Ideas?
« on: January 23, 2019, 06:04:16 PM »
Planning to get a my 2012 purple Street Triple sprayed, wanting something different and make it unique/individual.

Just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas or pictures to help me come up with something?

Have you thought about having it wrapped?  That way, if you don't like it you can easily restore it to original or even try an alternative colour.

Co-incidentally a newbie introduction ealier today included links to a bike he was considering buying and it was described as "green" but the images at the linked site made it look like it was purple.  It's one of those iridescent colours, I assume, but it was, apparently, wrapped!

Just a thought.

Regards,

Adie

EDIT :-  the wrapped bike was this one shown here :-

Not to bad on a bike to be honnest.
A mate had a Toyota MR2 sprayed in this chameleon colour. It wasn't my cup of tea, but I do like it on the bike.

You could consider to plasti dip it chameleon. That way it is always possible to remove it and bring it back to original.
I think "autoflex" is the more professional version of plasti dip. The high gloss layer can also withstand fuel ( plastidip doesn't)

If unique and individual are keywords.
Did you consider hydrodipping? The end result is clearcoated and quality wise very durable.
The possible prints are endless, you can go from a simple carbonprint to really crazy designs and motorcycle parts are no big problem to hydrodip.
If you really want to pop out, hydrodip your helmet in matching prints.

Just google hydrodipping and you see what I mean....

If you are the DIY type.....go and use your badtup, when the missus is out shopping  :008:

How about metallic black with orange wheels?
Or a take on a KTM RC8R paint scheme white with orange wheels?
I always liked Laverda colour schemes .

I also liked the daytona triumph did which was mettalic blue with gold wheels .

A couple of pics to give a general idea .

Have the wheels a different colour to the bodywork and maybe have a stripe the same colour as the wheels going through the bike from front to back??

My dad had a zrx1200 which was mainly red with red wheels, that looked good .

I Had a red ducati with gold wheels

I think coloured wheels make a huge difference .

Sell the purple one and buy another street to play painting  with.  :001: I have a purple one and I've had three silly offers for it over the summer all because it's clean and purple. If I wasn't so attached to it  I would have done the sensible thing and sold it.
