Front brake light switch
« on: September 17, 2019, 06:35:31 PM »
Hi. I have a 2015 STRX and need a new front brake light switch. They have some on fleebay but can only see ones for years for up to 2014 so does anyone know if they are all standard or did they change on later models?

STRX is mechaincally the same as the 2013 to 2016 STR and uses the same front brake master cylinder so if it fits a 2013 to 2016 STR it should be fine, The STRX was only produced for about 12months as a semi face lift to the STR.

Ok thanks. I should be okay to get the 2014 one then, cheers. They're only 2.50 anyway so worst case is I've lost very little.

Have you tried cleaning the switch out with contact cleaner first, I do mine on a yearly basis.

Yes I took the switch off, cleaned the contacts and gave it good spray with contact cleaner. Seemed to make it worse though.

Offer to teach the tester to pull minging wheelies.  They like that sort of stuff.   :007:
