765 Headers?
« on: November 07, 2019, 11:22:52 PM »
Aside from the titanium SC project headers are there any other aftermarket header options which fit with the standard fitment end can? I want something which is a decat option to use with my existing SC project s1 if possible. Slightly reluctant to pay the 700 for the sc project option though.

Have you considered getting a standard set of headers de-catted? It involves cutting open the pipe and either removing the cat matrix or replacing that section of pipe, and welding it up again.

I had seen on Facebook someone doing just that. I wondered whether the design as is woud work as well as an actual decat set. The cat area looks to be expanded in the exhaust section, so without the cat the exhaust gases may expand then have to contact again past the previous cat position. I'm not sure that would be best for power? Maybe I'm overthinking slightly!

Yes that would affect the tuning to some extent but not nearly as much as the catalyst obstruction. Welding in a straight section may be easier.

Will bear that in mind.

Anyone have any experience with spark exhausts? They have a set of headers on offer now. Can't work out whether that is a balance pipe on them, or whether it's just there to hold each pipe in place?
